The Beatles Story
Fab x 4
Visited during our holiday break in Liverpool.
Very well put together with visual and auditory feasts for lovers of The Beatles and for those few who haven't yet discovered them. And I reckon there is enough going on here to capture and entertain even those heathens who say they don't like the band!
There will be utter joy for those who were there at the Cavern Club in the early 1960s and a tinge of jealousy for those who simply have to make do with the great recreation of the iconic venue at this exhibition.
There is a broad sweep of history here. The Beatles’ deep involvement in, and influence on pop music, music in general, as well as culture and religion to name a few are distilled and clarified in a walk-through of roughly chronological ‘rooms’.
The audio – and sometimes visual - guide is carefully curated to make your experience as rich as possible.
I could have searched for a zero rating after noting the absence of Ian MacDonald’s ‘Revolution In The Head’ in the bookshop but I’m really not that miserable!
It would be difficult to come away from this exhibition without giving it at least a little of the same huge acclaim as The Beatles still demand.
